What is Advertising???
I have taken many classes while I have been a student at Barton College. A class on advertising has been on of the coolest. Advertising is all around us. We see advertising on television, in newspapers, magazines, on the internet and in our mailboxes everyday. Advertising is a paid, mass-mediated attempt to persuade. Many companies may give away coupons just so a person will try their product. Most of the time, if the person likes the product, he or she will begin to use the product on a regular basis. This is one of many ways companies will try to persuade people into using their products. Everyday as we watch television we see advertising of different things in the form of commericals. We see commericals for new movies coming out and we see commericals of insurance companies trying to sell insurance to people. Advertising is in magazines and newspapers also. Grocery stores will put ads in the newspaper in order to get more business and many magazines will advertise clothes for the type of audience that is reading the magazine. We come in contact with advertising everywhere and it impacts our lives a lot.
